I am from Texas and I had to go to Virginia the week before Labor Day in 2001 because my daughter who was in the navy was fixing to have a baby. I spent 2 long weeks waiting and waiting but no baby. On September 10th I had decided that if the baby had not come by the 11th I was coming back to Texas. We were up all night long going back and forth to the naval hospital because she was in labor. I never saw so many women who were there to have babies. It was standing room only all night long. At about 6:30 on the 11th my daughter was admitted but they had no room for her so she was kinda pushed aside until they could get a room for her. I had left the hospital and went and got her some clothes and on the way back I kept hearing on the radio that something had happened in New York. By the time I had made it to the base they were starting to bring out the concrete barriers and the mp told me that in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania there had been plane crashes. When I made it into the hospital there were announcements being made that all hospital personnel were to mobilize to get on the USS George Washington to go to New York. That was the strangest and scariest day I have ever been through. I was all alone except for my daughter and we were waiting on a baby to come into the world on this awful day. When my granddaughter finally came into this world it had been exactly 12 hours to the minute when the first tower had been hit. At that moment I thought how strange it was that there were so many children being born at that hospital. I even asked if it had been a full moon. Then I realized that all the evil that came into our world on that day, all the death and destruction that was done to us on that day and God in all his glory saw what was happening and tried to give us happiness in all the sadness of the day. Even though there were so many children born on that day and everybody will always say "Oh you were born on Sept. 11!" They will always be the good that came out of that day.
