Dear Sirs,

To commemorate my 21 years that I served in the US Air Force, I asked to have a US flag flown over the US Capital. I requested the date of September 11th, 2001, which is my Birthday. This flag was flown by an Honor Guard detachment prior to the attacks on our Nation. The flag was held for three weeks, by White House staff, after which it was sent to my supervisor for issue at my retirement ceremony. The flag is accompanied by a certificate from the White House stating that the flag was flown at the request of Senator Jesse Helms of NC.

I know that this Flag is extremely valuable, since it was flown during the last few hours of freedom this country may ever know. enclosed are pictures of the flag and certificate. I blacked out my name on the certificate using the computer program, but the certificate is in perfect condition. The numbers on the certificate and the Flag’s box match also.

Thank you,

Joseph Beck
