Meet the E.A 9.11 Team!

Youth Monitors/Advisory Board

I am Ali and I am a Global Kids leader. I am a seventeen year old Iranian who has lived in the U.S for a while now. I enjoy speaking about politics, literature, and movies. Life has been interesting and I expect it will continue to be.

I am Andreas and I am a Global Kids leader.

I am Joliz and I am a Global Kids leader. I have been involved in Global Kids for about three years now. I hope youth will gain new insights on the events that occured on September 11th and the aftermath we have been going through. I feel that youth have not been able to vocalize their opinion in a public way so I hope E.A.9.11 will allow teens to create dialogues about what really matters to us most as the youth of this nation.

I am Rebecca and I am a Global Kids leader. I am in 11th grade in High School in NYC. I like to do outdoor sports. I want to be a part of E.A.9.11 because it sounds interesting and will allow me to hear perspectives about what's happened since Sept.11 that I normally wouldn't hear. It will help improve my questioning skills (as a facilitator and in general) and hopefully I will hear some things that will force me to think differently about what has happened over the past 5 months. To be able to do this off the internet is exciting because it will be the first time I have ever used the internet for mass networking.

I am Susanna and I am a Global Kids leader. I want youth who participating in E.A.9.11 to be able to deal with what's going on and know that although this may have been a tragic event at least some good has come out of it, to feel that there is still good out in the world. Another thing I would like them to walk away with is to feel that they are not alone in this. I am excited about this project because afterwards I will feel that I have accomplished something meaningful and made a difference in someone's life.

I am Tania and I am a Global Kids leader.

Monitors

I am Esther and I am a Global Kids alum. I am a college student in Manhattan. I am studying philosophy and education. I am also very interested in the creative arts and i devote a lot of my time and mind to expressing myself through writing, painting and drawing.

I am Joshua and I am a Global Kids alum. I'm currently a freshman at Fordham University double majoring in Sociology and Urban Studies. I would like to be apart of this project to try and help destroy the level of distrust that his arisen steadily since the actions of 9/11. Dialogue is the key and this project seems very different. Plus, I could use the money. I'd like the youth who participate to come out of the project with the knowledge that we're all essentially the same. We like the same things, harbor similar fears, and all want to succeed in life.

I am Leinz and I am a Global Kids alum. I am a second year at Rutgers University in New Jersey. My major in school is Journalism and Mass Media. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. The rest of my family are from Haiti. My interests entail listening to a variety of music such as reggie and merengue. I love to dance and play sports. During my free time I like to just hang out with friends. Finally, my basic dream for my life is to do something that will help people.

I am Nick. I was born in Brooklyn, NY, and I grew up in New York, and later in Providence, RI. I attended Tufts University outside Boston, and after graduating, I began doing sound and music work for a video production company. In September 2001, I moved back to New York to become more involved in the audio-post production side of film and television. I also work for Global Kids, mainly helping students with the college application process. I hope to pursue both of these paths.

E.A 9.11 Staff

I am Deb, the Assistant Director of E.A.9.11. I have worked as an editor and writer at more sites for young people than you can shake a stick at. So far, this has been the most fun of all. I am from North Carolina and I wish New Yorkers could learn how to make sweet iced tea.

I am Barry, the Project Director of E.A.9.11, Global Kid's Human Rights & Internet Specialist, AND a New Voice's Fellow (phew!). This is the fourth dialogue of this sort that I have directed and am so excited to be doing it with a youth audience for the first time.

I am Marie, the publicist for E.A.9.11. No, I am not shy. I just haven't gotten Barry a photo yet!

I am Stacey, the graphic designer for E.A.9.11. I live in NYC and am the co-founder and creative director of American Design Language. (check out our 911 flag project)
