What Is E.A.9.11?
Hi, I am Joliz, one of the many high school students who worked with Global Kids to run E.A.9.11. Welcome to our archive.

In 2001, for the two months following the 6th month anniversary of the September 11 attacks:

  • 350 youth
  • from 20 countries
  • created 221 threads
  • to post 1775 messages

The topic? Life after 9.11. The personal. The social. The global. And everything else in-between.

The Featured Dialogues in the top right of this page will introduce you to some of the best of the bunch. And if you want to read the raw dialogues themselves, jump on in.

E.A.9.11 helped me so much to develop as a person. In school, I don't really get to express myself, because people aren't always willing to listen, and aren't exactly use to E.A.9.11's "One Mic" policy, haha.

But seriously, it also helped me listen to other's points of view and then talk with them about it-- instead of just screaming "You're wrong! So wrong! Do you even know how wrong you are?" Hehe.

It also helped me put some things in perspective after 9.11, and made me more aware of politics and other issues of the world. I actually researched some of the discussions I brought up!! Lol. I'm going to miss it a lot.
