About the Adolescent Day Treatment
Program, PS 721M
The Adolescent Day Treatment program, PS 721M, is a highly intensive
therapeutic collaborative setting between the Puerto Rican Family
Institute and the Board of Education designed to target primarily
Latino youth with a history of severe emotional problems. The 6th,
7th or 8th grade students in this setting are provided with additional
classroom support and psychotherapy treatment. Services include
individual, group and family therapy, psycho-pharmacology, crisis
intervention, diagnostic assessments and treatment planning, Board
of Education standards based curriculum, psychiatric and psychological
evaluations. Once admitted, ongoing contact with family members
helps to ensure the continued promotion of the health and well-being
of the child. The program's maximum capacity of 20 students allows
us the opportunity to respond to the individual needs of the child.
