About the Puerto Rican Family Institute
The Puerto Rican Family Institute, founded in 1960, is a nonprofit,
multi-program, family orientated health and human service agency.
Our primary mission is to prevent family disintegration and enhance
the self-sufficiency of the Latino community. We offer a comprehensive
array of social and health care services that are culturally and
linguistically relevant. Our core services include mental health
treatment, crisis intervention, placement prevention, residential
care, and education.
The Puerto Rican Family Institute operates in the continental United
States and in Puerto Rico. We serve a large immigrant population
and have a solid record of success. Our Commitment to quality care
is evidenced by our ability to maintain families together, through
preventing placements, hospitalizations and/or re-admissions for
98% of the families served.
